Thursday, Feb. 21, Ranger 85

Went whale watching with a great group of kids and chaperones on the Ranger 85 out of Channel Islands Harbor. Sadly we did not see any Gray Whales, but we were treated to a nice, friendly pod of Risso's Dolphins! It is a special and rare thing to see Risso's Dolphins. Risso's have grey bodies, but have many white scratches on them as they are known to feed on squid, which fight back with their beaks! Risso's dolphins can dive to over 4000 feet!
